CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Excess volatility increases risk further. Be cautious. Past performance is not an indication of future results.

Six, and none of them are trades

The mistakes that cost days on the money side (Bangladesh)

Lists of beginner mistakes are usually about the market. These six happen before or after any position exists, they cost time and paperwork rather than points, and every one of them is avoidable with a decision made on an ordinary afternoon.

The pattern behind all six is the same: something that could be settled quietly, in advance, gets discovered on the day it blocks something. Verification, the spelling of a name, the shape of a transfer, the difference between two figures on one screen — none of them are difficult, and all of them are expensive to meet for the first time under time pressure.

The six, and what each one actually costs

  1. Funding the wrong account under the same profile

A profile can hold several trading accounts, each with its own number and its own balance. The transfer works perfectly and the figure appears on a screen nobody is looking at, which reads exactly like a payment that never arrived.

Cost: an evening spent describing a problem that is a dropdown. Where the number is displayed.

  2. A receiving side in a slightly different name

An informal spelling, a shortened first name, a different order. Money returns to a holder, so the two names have to be the same name.

Cost: a returned request and a round of questions — the one thing on this list that cannot be corrected on the day.

  3. Testing the route with a round trip

Sending a small amount and immediately pulling it back to see whether it works. The route is described on the screens before you confirm; a round trip pays for two crossings to learn it.

Cost: two conversions in opposite directions on two different days. Why they do not cancel.

  4. Splitting one decision into four transfers

Each transfer is its own leg, with its own expected time and its own crossing where the currencies differ. Four small transfers are not a safer version of one — they are four of everything.

Cost: multiplied crossings and four timestamps to keep track of instead of one.

  5. Reading balance where the ticket reads free margin

The account displays one figure and a new order accepts a smaller one. Both are correct: an open position is holding part of the balance in place.

Cost: an hour spent looking for a fault that is not there. Work out the free part.

  6. Not writing down the timestamp

"It has been a while" is not a question anyone can act on. The moment of confirmation and the moment a request reached the finished state are the two facts that make a stalled transfer answerable.

Cost: a question that cannot be answered by anyone, including the person asking it.

Three near-mistakes that are not mistakes at all

What it looks likeWhat to checkWhat it actually is
A smaller figure landed than was sentWhether the sent currency matches the account currencyA crossing, applied on the way in — not a deduction and not an error
The balance moved overnight with nothing doneOpen positions, and whether any was held past the closeThe market, or a swap on an overnight position. Neither is a transfer
A request finished but nothing has arrivedThe timestamp of the finished stateThe hand-off happened; the second clock belongs to the carrier and its working days

The one that is not on the list

Sending money that was needed for something else. It is left out of the six deliberately, because it is not a mistake of process — nothing on any screen causes it and no checklist prevents it. It belongs to the decision made before the screen opens, and it is the only item on this whole site that cannot be fixed by reading a state or a timestamp.

It is treated on its own page, as a set of tests rather than a warning. How much to send, and what to leave.

What avoiding all six does not do

It does not improve a trading result, and nothing here claims otherwise. CFDs are complex instruments and trading them with leverage can lose money; a clean funding process simply keeps the paperwork from becoming a second problem on top of the first.

This site holds no money and can see no account. Every state, figure and timestamp mentioned above is read in the Exness Personal Area, behind the login.

Questions the six raise

Can verification really be finished before any money is sent?

Yes, on an empty account, at no cost. That is the entire fix for the first item on the list.

What if the account was opened with a shortened name?

Align the account with the document rather than the other way round, and do it before a request rather than during one.

Is a small first transfer always a bad idea?

A first transfer of any size is fine. What costs is sending it and pulling it straight back as a test — that is the round trip, and it pays two crossings.

Why does a new order accept less than my balance?

It reads free margin. An open position holds part of the balance in place until it closes.

Which timestamps are worth keeping?

Two: the moment you confirmed a transfer, and the expected time the screen displayed beside it. The first is yours to note; the second is printed before the confirmation.

Does a refused request lose the money?

No. The amount returns to the balance and a reason is stated. The reason is the useful part.

Are several transfers ever better than one?

They are several of everything — several crossings, several expected times, several records. The convenience has to be worth that.

Which of the six is hardest to undo?

The name mismatch, because it cannot be corrected while a request is in flight. The others can be settled after the fact.
